The Advantages of Dental Sedation

At Neil E. Bergstrom, DDS, we like to build a relationship with our patients that is built on trust, reliability, and safety. We understand the difficulties that you face when you are looking at having a dental procedure done. Everyone is different and has different feelings regarding having dental and medical procedures done. With that in mind, if you experience mild to severe anxiety when you go to the dentist, or even think about going to the dentist, give us a call today at 360-625-0006 and we will work with you to give you the sedation option that you need.

Dental Sedation

Sedation dentistry is a great way to help patients overcome their fears and anxieties surrounding dental work. If you or someone you know has a fear or anxiety surrounding dental work that prevents them from having dental work done, sedation dentistry is a great solution. Imagine a dental procedure where you experience no fear or anxiety, before, during, or after the procedure. Sound too good to be true? It can be done, and we can help you! We administer sedatives to the patient in the form of pills, IV, or gas, to help you avoid feeling anxious about dental work.

Numerous Benefits to Dental Sedation

Having a pain free dental experience is something that all dental patients deserve. No dental professional would ever suggest forgoing the use of (at least) local anesthetics to avoid a painful procedure. A huge amount of anxiety is relieved by knowing that you will not feel a thing during your procedure.

No time is lost when you are sedated for your dental procedure. It would be surprising to most to learn how much longer it takes to perform a dental procedure on a patient who is not sedated. Patients who refuse sedation have to take more breaks more frequently, and as a result, their procedures can last a very long time compared to those who are sedated.

Avoid the anxiety altogether. With sedation dentistry, you don’t have to worry about the appointment for days or weeks before it is scheduled. You can rest assured that the procedure will go smoothly, you will remain calm and pain-free throughout.

The affordability of dental sedation has become common place. Years ago dental sedation was a fairly costly expense, but now it’s quite affordable. No more having to worry about the bill at the end of the procedure, just relax knowing that the price is greatly reduced.

An easier procedure overall. When you don’t have to worry, and you can just sit back and relax your procedure will go great. It is recommended that you see the dentist at least twice a year for routine cleanings and examinations. This is critical to the ongoing health of your mouth, but many who have dental anxieties forgo seeing the dentist for these regular cleanings and examinations because it causes them too much stress. With dental sedation, we have the ability to give you an anxiety free experience so that you can keep your teeth happy and healthy for years to come.
